Weddings and Wedding Dresses

Getting married? Have you picked up a wedding dress already? I have! I know it is still too early, heck, I am not even engaged, but who knows? It is better to be prepared at all times. Anyway, I have here two of my most favorite wedding dresses.

This particular mermaid style dress is strapless with beaded lace overlay. The train satin tulle is long enough for dramatic entrance and exit photos. This is available in four colors (white, champagne, ivory and pink) but for a conservative church such as ours, it is white or ivory for me. This is currently on sale for $441.99 previously $579.

A princess will never be caught dead not owning even a single ball gown so if you are dreaming of a princess-like wedding, a ball gown type of wedding dress is perfect. I especially like this one-shoulder ball gown with organza train and ruffle flowers. I mean, it is a ball gown yet it is not overpowering the bride. This is currently on sale at $260.00 previously $322... the price closed the deal!

I have lots of friends since high school and most of them are married now. But, believe me, I have attended only one wedding out of the many. They wed overseas, that's why.

The first wedding of a friend that I have attended was about three years ago. They were already married in San Francisco, USA for more than a year when they decided to renew their vows in the Philippines in front of their families and friends. My friend wore a simple yet stunning wedding gown--it resembles Duchess Kate's--that accentuated her already glowing beauty. It was a simple yet solemn ceremony held in Our Lady of the Lourdes Church in Tagaytay City. The reception followed at Taal Vista Hotel just a few minutes away from the church.

I don't know of any woman who does not dream of marrying the perfect guy for her. I myself dreams of walking down the aisle wearing my wedding dress toward the altar where my beau is nervously and excitedly waiting. My guy friend asked me one time what is it about weddings and wedding dresses that excite women. Well, I just answered, "it is like being a princess for a day, and we do not want that day to be just an ordinary day so we have to wear something special."

Here are some tips before you buy a wedding dress... be sure it fits and hugs you in all the right places, you don't want to look like you are wearing a potato sack or bandage on your special day; don't limit yourself to one store or designer; and give yourself enough time to decide for your dress.

Good luck on your wedding dress hunting!
